Our No Limits CSV Import is finally here! 🎉
If you have data in a CSV file, you can now import it directly into your Xano database.
How does it work?
👍 The CSV Import is easy. You can select Add Table in the database and choose the import option to create a new table. You can also update or append an existing database table by selecting the menu icon within the spreadsheet view.
➡️ Adding a new table will automatically create the table columns and schema for you. You’ll be able to preview the data types and make any changes or hide columns before the upload.
➡️ When importing a CSV to an existing table the data will either be updated or appended. To make updates to existing data the CSV will be required to map to a primary ID.
✔️ Millions of rows? No problem. The import process has dedicated resources, separate from your instance, so it can handle all of your data no matter how large it is.
⌛ If your CSV is over 5,000 records then the import will be processed in the background. You can monitor the progress under settings in your workspace. Once the import is complete, you’ll see a banner in your workspace and receive an email notification.

This is exciting. Trying to import my CSV but I don't see the option to choose the column (UID in this case) I would like to be used as the Primary key.

only integers are supported for primary keys at this time. A UUID option will be coming later

Is there a way I can update an existing record from an external data point if the unique identifier cant be the email or a pre-defined nomenclature (first+last name in this case)?
-
This was a big issue for us. Thanks for resolving it so quickly! UUID next!

yes - you can find and update records on whatever field. If it's multiple fields, first use the query all records function to set multiple parameters then update the resulting field

This is phenomenal. It will help a lot.
