When you schedule a background task to run ever minute and the actual task takes for example 3 minutes to run, will the task start again on the minute or is the system intelligent enough to know that there is a task running at the moment which is not completed?

If a task is supposed to start again but it is already running, then it will start as soon as the previous one is completed.

We just introduced task timings in the task history menu. That should provide some more insight into what's going on and where time is being spent.
