'Return' Utility Function

Would be quite useful to stop execution of a function in the middle of the function stack and return whatever variable the user chooses.

Maybe called 'Stop and Return' ?

This exists. It's called "Stop & Debug" - it's in Utility Functions
-
I don't think that completes the "return" part of what is looking for. I did a test in Xano to confirm that "stop and debug" halts operations, rather than providing an early return: https://www.loom.com/share/1c6cdbdf2fd04d7895df7309855b9a88
To my knowledge, today one needs to code around the lack of an early return in Xano by handling the logic paths more completely. I agree that an early termination function would be a useful power tool! -
This 👍

Not what I'm referring to. See Ray's response. Thanks

I agree this would be very useful. Originally we didn't implement this because we were trying to know the format of the response. Having a return statement makes this more challenging, since it means there could be multiple result types.
However, since Xano supports updating variables, conditional logic, and loops, the issue is still there - just a little more difficult to encounter.
I've found myself wanting this many times during office hours. Might be able to squeeze this into tomorrow's release! 🙂 -
return statement is now supported in the utility functions.
