friendly api endpoint

 it would be nice to develop and test our app with a nice api like api.domain.com/path/to/my/endpoint. When we migrate to launch we don't have to do through renaming endpoint or endpoint group. 
is this currently part of custom domain and is that in launch or scale. I have domains on AWS and so would like to point my api.domain.com to the api uri

 What is preventing you from doing that now?

You have complete control over the naming conventions of your API and can even rename your API group canonical id.

Yes here is an example.

Custom domain.
Renamed api group canonical to "custom"
Created endpoint named test

https://seandev.metrixserver.com/api:custom/test

The only thing you can't change is the "api:" before the word custom.

i tried to map api2.mydomain.com to https://xxxx-xxxx-xxxx.xx.xano.io/api:U5UOdqSe since the group is profile_media and the endpoint is create. In what you you say canonical group and the endpoint name how does the USUOdqSe figure

I setup on aws api2.mydomain.com CNAME to xxx-xxxx-xxxx-xx.xano.io and then 
referenced it as api2.mydomain.com/api:U5UOdqSe/group/endpoint.

Now I get a self-signed certificate error since I have a self signed cert for *.mydomain.com on AWS. Do I need to setup a cert on Xano?

The cert happens automatically when you update the custom domain in xano. You need to go to the instances page and click the side menu to add your custom domain.

hi  I am still on the base tier,. Do I need a higher tier? I thought certs were available under all tiers? All I want to do is route  api2.mydomain.com from Route53 to xano

I just checked and it looks like its available on Scale only. We will be changing that to all paid plans.

Are you on the free tier or the Launch plan? We won't be able to do it on the free tier, but Launch will have that enabled tomorrow.

i changed the canonical id to a readable form, so I figured that part. But I still get a self-signed certificate issue. Any suggestion to get this working?

free tier, but I can consider the launch, although I was hoping to get things moving a bit further before doing so. Will that allow me to get it working on my AWS dns with a cname?

You will need to upgrade to Launch. The custom domain feature will be available on Launch tomorrow.

The custom domain feature is restricted to individual instances and since the Free plan is a shared environment, it will not work.

I can let you know when the new build goes out tomorrow for this feature.

thanks  . BTW can I write javascript functions as part of custom functions in launch tier? I use draftbit for front end, but i would like to move some of my javascript to the backend.
