Forgot Password/Password Reset

I am using Wized 2 and Xano together. Everything was great until I got to the reset/forgot password functions. I have a client who does not want to use SendGrid at all. But I need a password reset for users who forget their password.

I am shocked that Xano doesn't have this pre-built into auth... I can't seem to find any videos online either.

Has anyone set up a Forgot Password flow? If so, how did you do it?

I need the user to enter their email so we can send them an email with a reset link, then when they click the link I want the browser to tag their email/request with a URL parameter, or a cookie?

We launch in 8 days, so I really need help with this.

Hey @keithen, as far as I know with Xano, there is no way around using SendGrid for password reset.

Were you guys able to come up with another solution for launch?

Hi @Jesse Nieman you can use any service with an API, it doesn't have to be Sendgrid. You have full access to the function stack to manipulate the password reset Snippet to work with any 3rd party service you'd like.

Hey @keithen we just implemented the forgot password flow using Postmark in today's State Change Pro office hours - the member who had the need made and tested connection in about 15m. So it's not infinite work. However, you do need an account set up with whatever API-based email provider you are using.

Hey that member is me. Thx to Ray, I do have a password reset flow working with Postmark. As someone new to APIs, I couldn't I figured it out without help.

Hi, @keithen @carri what interface did you use for the user to be able to enter their new password and swap the magic token for the auth token?

@FreyaH so sorry for the late response on this, I switched temporarily to building the prototype in Airtable until I revisted the official project. Which is where I'm at now haha.

I'm using Webflow to build the interface, but Wized 2 to connect it.
